Editorial Standards

HFD publishes clear, useful editorial articles for readers who want context before they make sense of a topic, follow a trend or decide what deserves more attention.

Our current focus is cars, technology, science and entertainment. We choose these areas because they reward careful explanation: a used car can hide long-term costs, a new AI feature can be more limited than its marketing suggests, a science headline can sound more certain than the evidence allows, and a franchise guide can help readers understand a story before they spend time watching or reading it.

What We Aim For

Every HFD article should answer a real reader question. We prefer useful context, plain language and honest limits over hype, filler or recycled summaries.

Before publishing, we ask:

• What is the reader trying to understand?
• What facts need to be checked?
• What context would make the topic clearer?
• What uncertainty or limitation should be stated openly?
• What would make this article more useful than a generic overview?

Sources and Verification

When an article includes factual claims, dates, product details, technical explanations, safety information, scientific findings, recalls, prices or availability, we aim to check reliable sources before publication.

Depending on the topic, those sources may include official company pages, regulatory agencies, scientific organizations, public records, reputable reporting, manufacturer information, interviews, published research or primary material such as books, films and official announcements.

If a topic is developing, we try to separate confirmed facts from early reports, opinion, analysis and speculation.

Corrections

If we find an error, or if a reader sends a correction that we can verify, we may update the article. Corrections can include factual fixes, clearer wording, updated context or additional sourcing.

Readers can send correction requests through the Contact page. Helpful correction requests include the article title or URL, the sentence or section in question and the source or context that supports the correction.

Independence

HFD keeps editorial decisions separate from commercial interests. We do not publish articles only because a company, product, franchise or service wants coverage.

If HFD later uses affiliate links, sponsorships or advertising relationships in a way that affects a page, those relationships should be disclosed clearly where relevant.

AI and Editorial Tools

HFD may use digital tools, including AI-assisted tools, during research organization, drafting support, headline testing, formatting or image creation. These tools do not replace editorial judgment.

Articles should be reviewed before publication for accuracy, clarity, usefulness and tone. AI-assisted images should be checked before use and should avoid misleading logos, fake marks, real private information, copyrighted artwork, real person likenesses or anything that could confuse readers about the source of the image.

Images

HFD aims to use images that are created for HFD, licensed for use, public domain, Creative Commons with a suitable license or used with permission. Credit alone is not the same as permission.

Featured images should support the article without misleading readers. When attribution is required, it should be included near the image or in the article.

Limits

HFD is not a medical, legal, financial or professional advisory service. Articles are for general information and editorial context. Readers should consult qualified professionals for decisions that require professional advice.
